rb20det surging and stalling under braking

Hopefully this will be my last problem with this motor. But now it will run fine and drive good but when I brake it begings to surge and a lot of the times it dies. Any ideas?

Is it really hard to brake? maybe the booster is going bad or u have a vacuum leak?

This smells strongly of vacuum leak. If it runs fine with no braking, then perhaps the leak prevalent only when the booster is activated.

Other possibility is an electrical short of some sort in the brake circuits.

remove the check valve from the brake booster to the engine. Then test it and see if it's defective. i'm not sure how to test the brake booster. also this might sound funny but literally check your voltages when braking. Could just be a short in that brake system or you alternator not being able to handle the load. just ideas here bro..
