I need my RB20DET starter replaced (rebuilt in this case), and I was just wondering how I would go along and accomplish this. I ask this because when I called for a quote, everyone said that they had no idea on what an RB20DET starter even looked like.

Just bring it down to your local electic motor rebuild shop and dont even tell them what its for. If they are a good enouf shop all they will do is pull it apart and cross refernce the worn parts with a calipor and pull all the parts out of there stock. Wala a fixed starter. It should cost you around 70-100 depending on how much work they have to do to it. Dont even confuse them with what its for. I have temple electric in faribault mn do all my starter's and alt'ys. They waranty there repair for 2-3 years. They have like a 1 day turnaround to fix starters for you.

Sweet. Thanks for the info. I'm going to be taking mine to a place called Start Mart (most reputable starter rebuild place around here), so they should be able to fix it. They charge $110 or $120 (forgot...) but give a lifetime warrenty.
