As of right now, my bov isnt recirculating, its just venting to the atmosphere.

Would you guys suggest i recirculate it? Ive been told it would be a good idea too so the ecu could take correct reading or something, because right now my gas mileage isnt to great. I was told that it might help.

I want a second opinion on this, from people that use the same engine.

Thanks

From what I hear, when you vent to the atmosphere is makes your motor run rich. I'm going to recurculate because of that.

IN a MAF setup, you cannot allow any air to escape after the MAF. that air is metered and the ECU is accounting for it. When it escapes from the line the ECU doesnt know its missing and will add fuel to compensate for the air that is supposed to be there.

Your problems will be stumbling when coming off boost and rich right after a shift, it will hurt performance, not enhance it.

I tried like crazy to setup my RB25DET to accept the ATM. BOV but to no avail. In the end I went back to recirculating.

Ok, so what im getting from this, is that i definatly should be recirculating? It will increase performance and fuel efficiency?

In that case, what size pipe is it i need to run.. can i get it from Home Depot or any auto part store?

Yes, just run a rubber hose.. you can get them at any home depot type store. Preferably a high heat one.

Whats the average MPG on the rb20.. I get probably 14-16 haha, it really really sucks.

i dont see many people recirculating?

when you send the air back to the intake, should you send it before or after the MAFS?

How much of a peformance improvement can i expect?

Right now its running REALLY REALLY rich, black smoke when i rev is up high. I know that drains performance, but by how much?

Hey do you have a Super AFC???Because if you do it has a function on it called:Dec. Flow = Decelerating Air flowIt compensates for the missing air when you blow offApexi's website says it works for "hotwire" systems onlyBut im guessing by hotwire they mean MAF Cause our MAF meters by having the air run by it and cool off the wireBut i could be wrong, please let me know if it works

does it run rich all the time???

Does it stumble or try to shut off after you shift gears??

Yes it runs rich all of the time.

When moving slowly, then pressing the clutch in the engine would cut off.. but the people that put it in the engine compensated for that by turning up the idle speed! (Thats why i made another thread about adjusting idle speed, id like it to idle around 800rpm like a normal rb20, rather than 2000rpm).

I wouldnt say it stumbles.. what exactly do you mean by that.

Running rich could be caused by a number of things....

Too much fuel pressure(Walbro fuel pump with no adjustable regulator)

ATM. BOV

Boost leak

Bad AFM

Bad O2

Misadjusted/not functioning IAC

a number of different things.
