Hi Guys...

i've been following this forum for a while now and finally decided to join....

i'm planning on doing an rb25det swap into an s13...

i've read up on it like mad....everything and anything i can get my hands on....and NICO was on the frontiers of this research...

my question pertaining the rb20/rb25 is not the regular specs...stroke, bore, compression....

but a bit more indepth

question 1

what turbo does the rb25/rb20 use? does it use the universal T3 flange? i know the SR uses a t25 and to convert to a T3 requires aftermarket manifold...

the reasoin i ask is that i already have a t3/T4 on my Volvo and i would like to reuse it if possible

question 2the cams....any specs on them? lift? duration? timing? any aftermarket stuff u guys have experience with? hows the powerband? i've yet to see a torque/hp dyno graph from either the rb20 or rb25

hmm thats really it for now...

oh lastly.....i dont plan mad hp from this beast...around 300 whp to start off...

which would u guys choose? the rb20 or rb25?i would love to get my hands on an rb25 but the rb20 is so much cheaper...what are the differences between these 2? besides the extra 500 cc's...i mean, how much harder would it to achieve that hp goal from an rb20 as opposed to the rb25?

thx a lot guys....much appreciated

1# Yes its an internally gated T3. RB20 and 25 are different turbos (wheels)

2#std cams arn't bad for broad powere.. 264 is relly as big as you want to go on the street.

The 20 and 25 are very different beasts.. the 20 is morelike a 26.. no bottom but revs!.. the 25 is a grunter that only runs to 7000rpm.Depends on how you drive.

Yeah, the 20 uses some odd T2/T3 hybrid with a T3 flange...As for cams, I believe that the stock NA counterparts of each engine offer a slightly better cam, while still maintianing good driveability. Just what I heard though. :)

Good luck. ;)
