Yeah, that's really nice that the radiator is so much bigger, but the extra height gains you ZIP! It sticks up above the airflow path and is thus wasted. It might be a little bit thicker, but only a little.

A bigger surface area radiator is only good if you can get air to flow through it.

haha yea i the only reason i post that to show people that a RB20 radiator will work with a S13, cuz some people are afraid to over heating their new acquired RB20

my car overheated w/ the rb20 radiator. I went w/ an OEM 1G DSM radiator and haven't had any problems since.

it's a cheap upgrade for CA-equipped 240s as well.

Take a look at the Nismo T-stat. That helps quite a bit too. Thats what I'm looking into.

Nah, no pics. It fits nicely, you just have to make the upper radiator mounting brackets.

1G DSM = 1st generation eclipse/talon. Go to O'reily's or Autozone or whatever and ask for a new radiator w/o the fans for a 92 mitsubishi eclipse turbo FWD. It should be $90-130. It doesn't have a radiator spout or filler or whatever it's called, so you can pick that up at a radiator shop for $25. Run it inline w/ the upper radiator hose. Get a universal radiator hose for the lower. Make some brackets (it's not hard) out of whatever you wish, as long as it's sturdy and doesn't cut into the radiator. that's it. It's not hard, and it's cheap (like me).

Cool, sounds like a cheap alternative to the outrageously priced Fluidyne and Koyo replacements. So is the 1G radiator thicker than the KA radiator?

I haven't taken my car on the road yet, but with the KA radiator and a 12" HP PermaCool, it barely makes it above the bottom temp gauge line, even after 15 minutes. I kept thinking that I need to wire in a temperature switch to keep the PermaCool off until I remembered that the thermostat should be closed anyway.

Hmmm... wonder if it is stuck open. But I should wait until driving it a bit before monkeying with it any more.
