I guess I f*** up, I bought a 200ZR RB20DET that comes with NICS.

My name is Tommy and I am a senior in highschool, I decided to engine swap my car for my senior project. I ended up buying a 200ZR RB20. The only problem I have is that I cannot buy a pre-made harness. I bought this engine for $500 USD and paid a total of $1000 + Shipping. For now I need a few questions answered so I can hurry and finish my senior project.

Can I bolt a Silvertop ECCS Head to a Redtop NICS Block?
If the answer is yes to the Silvertop ECCS head on a Redtop NICS Block, can anyone send me comparison pictures of the Intake side and the exhaust side of both heads to make sure I am buying the correct one?

If the answer is no
Other than removing the butterfly valves and more boost, how can I add more HP to my engine?

Is there a write up for the butterfly valve removal or is it straight forward?

If ebay does not have an RB20 ECCS Head for sale, does any member on this page have one for sale? and can I buy it off of you for $350 USD?

Yes, you can transfer the heads but it may be cheaper to simply get the right long block and sell the NICS motor.

Unless you're going for crazy boost pressures, do not remove the butterfly valves. They're meant to be a variable length intake runner system. You will lose a lot of your midrange torque doing so.

As for making more power, normal modding list applies. Exhaust work, intakes, and tuning will likely net you nice gains.

Why would it be easier to just sell the current engine?

Consider not only the cost of the new cylinder head but also the associated items such as the headgasket, intake/exhaust gaskets, new headbolts/studs,any machine shop fees, etc.

So I would have to get the head machined to the block and new headstuds/studs?

Thats an additional $400-500 just for those, and another head will be around $500 :/

Now for just putting mods onto the Redtop, no one makes an intake for the nics. So I will be forced to run the ugly oem intake.
Besides from the ulra-expensive turbo manifolds (Full-race, DOC, RawBrokerage) are there any affordable top mount manifolds?

Yup, and you now see that it adds up. Whenever you pull a cylinder head, it is in your best interest to take it to a machine shop and have them check the flatness and/or surface the head as either can cause a new headgasket to fail. Head bolts should never be reused as they are torque-to-yield (they stretch/deform to the specified preload). I would never advise anyone to crack open a motor unless they have to.

Good manifolds are expensive for a reason. You can try your luck with $100-$300 manifolds. Some get away fine for years with absolutely no problems. Some have warped flanges right out of the box. Some may crack or may not crack.

I'm pretty sure you can bolt the silver top head on to the older block. I use to have a redtop block many moons ago.

Your best be would prob to do a mega squirt 2 ecu setup on that motor. It's cheap and will get the job done, It will be some good leg work but it can be done. If you don't have to pull the head I wouldn't unless your going to upgrade to a metal headgasket and ARP studs at the same time.

Also just rock the factory manifold. Here are some old pics of my SC61 turbo on the stock manifold. The manifold and turbo could have been shaved down and it would have cleared. You can also just add a external gate at the collector of the manifold and BAM ebay turbo here you come lol.

would you be interested in parting with the valve covers and coil pack cover from the NICS motor?

Googling Rev.Z Impul results in nothing
