Hi, i recently swapped an rb20det from an r32 skyline into my 240 and the turbo is boosting 10-11 pounds, as opposed to the around 7 psi they should put out stock. I have been looking around and i've heard that rb25s have electronic boost solenoids that limit the wastegate's spring pressure of 10 psi to 5, and then advances it to 7, but i'm not sure if my rb20 had a boost solenoid since there is one line running from the wastegate to a port on the turbo compressor that looks stock, leading me to believe there was no boost solenoid on the skyline it came out of. Does anybody have any ideas as to why my rb is putting out more boost than stock?

you running stock bov? does it look smashed? they hit the top of them and smash them in a little and lets it run more boost

You mean the bypass valve on the intake? I don't think the bypass valve would allow for more boost, people crush the dsm valves (same as the rb20 i have heard) so that they don't leak under higher boost levels.

I'm pretty sure Rb20's are suppose to run 10psi stock, and Rb25's run 7psi.

Really? I've seen some r32 gts-t gauge clusters from cars with rb20s and the boost gauges in the clusters only read to 7. I'm not sure, can anyone else confirm that the stock boost for rb20s is 10 psi and not 7?

Cluster reads in bar not psi.

Thanks, i looked closer at the clusters and it read x100mmhg, which converts to around 13.5 psi, so you guys must be right about 10 psi.
