I have a 91 R32 nissan Skyline GTS with a RB20DE in it. Yes thats right no turbo. I got the car for a really good deal and it was in excelent condidtion.

At first i was looking to bolt on a turbo but looking at what i would need new ecu injecters pistons exhaust manifold differnt intake ect. i decided it would just be cheeper and more reliable if i swaped in a turbo built engine and then start modifing.

I am looking to put in a Rb25DET in my R32

I want to know if theres any major complications with puting in the RB25 series instead of sticking with the RB20's Mostly with the drive shaft and mounting the engine, will the old engine mount line up with new thing of that nature?

Or should i stick with the RB20's and just get a RB20DET??

I was also looking for a place thats well hear of to buy the engine from anyone have any ideas?

If you swap in the RB25 transmission with it you will need to modify the driveshaft. You will need the whole engine harness and computer as well.

When i get thr RB25det i will get the trans with it what modifications need to be done to the drive shaft?

Will the R32 trans fit on the rb25 motor or should i just do orgional plan get replace the trans too? Will the R33 drive shaft hook up with the rear differencial in my R32 or does it need to be custom fited to work?

the rb20 trans will bolt up to the 25, but the 20 transmission has weaker internals, not a problem unless you're planning on making 400+

Or you can find someone who has or is parting out an R32 GTS25 and see what parts you can frankenstein into it.

Me personally, I would stick with the 20 as you would have less problems and fitment issues with it. They are good engines and you can have lots of fun with them...I do!

Yea the more i look into it the more i am thinking of just sticking with the RB20. My budget it not end less and if i were to buy the RB25 and swap out my RB20 i wouldnt have much cash left to play with the engine. With the RB20 i have i can take that cash and pick up a largerd ball berring turbo, injectors, and a boost contoller and larger intercooler.RB20DET it isThanks for your help.

I wouldn't recommend just bolting a turbo on a DE engine, the compression ratio is totally different for NA and turbo RB engines, Unless you only want to run low boost levels by putting a turbo on the DE. If you try to run the higher boost levels with a bolt on Turbine you will blow the engine. I would recommend going for a different engine, an RB20DET from any R32 Skyline, A31 Cefiro, or C33 Laurel will work well, and are fairly inexpensive. Also I would recommend changing the rotors and such over to the GTS-T models as well 5 hole versus 4 on the NA cars.

The 20 is an easier conversion than the 25 on a R32 and the engine harness is the same.
