Does anyone know if some of these japanese salvage places (such as Venus, Jarco, Night etc) would sell the motor by itself with no wiring, trans, or intercooler? If so how much should it be going for?

Reason I'm asking is because I was thinking of going ahead and getting the Haltech and RB25 trans when I get the motor. We will see what happens around April. I already have access to a parted out RB20, but thanks for the offer.

hmmm...haltech and rb25trans.....sounds like a fun ride. rbsileighty are u gonna do the 8.5 C/R pistons too. I wish somone would do them to see the power diff between them and the 9.0 stock. IF its big enuff i might go for that instead.

The 20 is already 8.5:1. What happens has a lot to do on how nice Uncle Sam decides to be with tax returns. I would like to do suspension as well, so we will see how "enhanced" the motor goes in when I find what I'm getting back.

This also makes me think, what is the difference between the port/bolt design of the intake side of the 25 and 20? Someone with both heads should take a pic of both motors intake sides to see what it would take to put the Greddy intake plenum on the 20. If the bolts are different and the ports are bigger, maybe it would be possible to make a spacer/adaptor that moves the bolt locations (like the nice wheel spacers with bolts in both directions) and a tapered bore if the ports are that much different so they would match. Just a thought.

I HAVE BOTH ENGINES AND THE RB25 INTAKE PORTS ARE LONGER, THE WATER INLETS ARE DIFFERENT, AND THE BOLT PATTERN IS TOTALLY OFF. I HAVE PICTURES BUT I HAVEN'T HAD THE TIME TO UPLOAD THEM. WHEN I GET A CHANCE I'LL POST THEM.

What should the safe max power for a 20 on pump gas (92-3)? This is not running water/alcohol injection or anthing similar.

ITS http://WWW.UNIQUEAUTOSPORTS.COM

AND ITS AROUND$850 FOR THE RUNNERS, PLENUM, AND FUEL RAIL. THEY MAKE THEM FOR BOTH THE RB25 AND THE RB20. I TRIED TO GET A GROUP BUY TOGETHER A WHILE BACK BUT EVERYONE SHOT IT DOWN.... SO I GAVE UP AND NOW I'M PROBABLY GOING TO GO WITH MIKES PLENUM & FUEL RAIL FROM TOPHAT PERFORMANCE.
