Wow that's profound; you have documented incidences that show the STOCK ecu to be superior to a lowly home built (yet HIGHLY optional) stand alone? Have much personal experience with the M/S, or are those statements pure conjecture?craz4240 wrote:Your stock ECU is more capable then any megasquirt. If you go standalone don't cheap out get Haltech.
I believe his statement is a conjecture.. the nissan ecu from the time it came out and you wre able to chip it was the best ecu out there.. you had a 16x16 grid area where you can fine tune your vehicle controlling fuel and ignition timing.. is it better than a megasquirt..can't say it is don't have much expirience with it. but it sounds like you want to run MS just to get rid of the maf and use a map set up.. There have been debates to determine wich is better map or maf. To get a better mixture a maf set up is better because you have an exact amount of air being put into the engine as opose to a map that reads pressure, remember thou 10psi on a 2" pipe is not the same volume as 3" pipe. Anyone is more than welcome to interject but we're getting off the subject. MS on an RB20 should work with the trigger wheel no problems make sure you have the correct timing on the tune and also that the MS is installed correctly. LIke Uber said MS doesn't care about who makes the engine just if it's a 4,6 or 8. You are going to need the trigger wheel last I heard MS does not support the nissan CAS and you need something to determine timing.uber95 wrote:
