I have a RB20DET / 5spd Transmission
Rb25DET Turbo
XSpower Boost Controller
SAFC-II
FMIC
2.5downpipe and 3" Exhaust with Resonator
Welded R200 Diff

in a 240z, when i was driving home from work i stop at the store and when i left there was no power left in the car, I thought maybe it was my clutch at first or something else similar, but the car gets up to speed, then i noticed it seem to only really have problems when the turbo engaged, could someone help me figure our what it could be, I am leaning towards a wiring problem with the computer, witch i will be checking over first thing in the morning, but are there any other common problems with this?

also The speedometer doesnt work,, its never been hooked up since the engine and transmission swap, I am not an expert on it, so do i just need to hook up the line from the sender to the meter, or is there a stop to the computer or other locations i need to be aware of

thanks for your comments :)

I have no clue what is wrong with your car, your description is vague at best.

The stock 240z speedo is cable driven, and the stock RB one is not. You need a mechanical sensor to connect to your cluster. I am sure this has been done, and I am too lazy to look it up. May be on hybridz too.

Not sure what extra info i can add to make it less vague, it just doesnt accelerate like it should

and it being a rb20det with trans the 240 should have completely changed to what ever the rb20det uses, am i correct?

Do you have an electronic boost controller? is that a wire for it? I don't know what that is in the photo or what the purpose of the wire is.

I don't know exactly what's involved with the speedometer, I just know that the z is cable driven and the rb20det is electronic. I suspect there is a drop in replacement mechanical sender for that trans, I just don't know what it it would normally come in. You are going to have to do some searching, that swap has been done a bunch of times in zcars.

RB20 is cable but the S13/s14 electric speed sensor fits into it. Hulk check your battery voltage.

Your 240z is cable too, maybe your cable has broken. Theyre only like 11 bucks to replace
