RB20DET is this critical?

how critical is the piece connects to the charge-pipe by the throttle body. i'm going to put in a front facing plenum soon, do i need to incorporate that with the new plenum? maybe eliminate it totally. see the picture below.

depends what that pressure line leads to... however, pressure is pressure so as long as that line still sees pressure (before the TB) you can tap it from anywhere.

That line feeds the idle things...so w/o it hooked up your car will not run right at all..

to verify what nick says its the IAA unit, idle auxiliary air unit

in that case you cannot just unplug it. you can T it from another pressure source though, such as that boost solenoid valve next to the red arrow. doesn't have to come directly from the pipe.

damn, too bad i can't remove it w/o the standalone. no big deal, i'll have it rerouted.
