I got the rb into my 240sx, with everything connected. It does not start, and when it cranks over, the car moves itself forward( when in gear and clutch pressed down). I am getting fuel, but it looks like I am not getting spark. Could anyone tell me anything they think this might be? I suspect the ignitor chip, but am not sure yet. As for the clutch problem, I am using an exedy racing organic clutch with heavy-duty pressure plate. The clutch is for a 300zx, and everything looks the same. I used the throw-out bearing they provided me, and becase my rb20det's throw-out bearing hub spacer thing was broken, I used the one from the ka24de. They looked exactly the same, so I don't think this is the problem. Any ideas on that one as well? ThanksWalter

only thing I can think off is make sure you got power to the white/purple wire thats the ignition coil power source. also when you say you are getting fuel are you just hearing the pump or have you removed one of the spark plug to see if the injectors are working... I dont remember it you have that little valve on the fuel rail you can press and see it there is fuel in the rail.

I checked the spark plug. I will go over the wiring again.

What did the plugs look like? Double check to see if your ECU is getting power (light on the ecu)... I wired the wrong red wire (2 red wires on the S14's chassis harness) for the power wire when doing Hybrid's car and as soon as I switched to the right power wire she fired up. Hopefully this is your problem since it's a cheap and easy fix.

The plugs are bright green and have 4 wires in each. The ecu has power, and the diagnostic says everything is ok.

I meant the spark plugs... both of those green plugs have a relay plugged into them correct?

Double check your ign amp on the back of the motor (closest to the fire wall) and make sure everything is connected and grounded.

Another thing you can do is a CAS test to see if you are getting spark... mark the CAS current position (metal thing on the front of the motor with a mitsu emblem on it) then pull it out. With one coil pulled you can spin the cas with the ign on and the plug should spark... that test could eliminate a few problem areas.

It runs great now, thanks guys. I just needed the relay for the eccs. Every "major" problem I end up having is incredibly minor, so I'm just going to stop asking as I figure it out soon enough anyway. Thanks anyway though. Walter

The white/black wire you should wire it to f3 pin 17 this is for the eccs power. the black/red wire you should wire it to the black/red on the f3 pin 1.I always connect the white/black and the white/purple to the same wire.

thanks lyon23. i had done all that but somehow i got kinda confused because i traced the white/black....white/purple and black/red and it go to the 6-wires plug. and i am not wiring the 6-wires plug to anything right now because i don't know where the heck it's suppose to go to!!!! and the rb20det-s14 intruction didn't mention anything about the 6-wires plug. Man, sometime i just wanna take the baseball bat and beat the **** out of my s14....
