RB20DET in a S12..?

I'm not sure if this is applicable. I currently own a 89 240sx right now and I'm waiting for my rb20det motor to come in.but, I also want to buy a 200sx S12 from a friend of mine. the s12 is not running but the body is still rock solid.I'm just wondering if my RB20det will bolt into the s12 chassis with the Skyline Xmember.

I doubt it, the S12 engine bay is also shorter than the S13's.

DOES THE FJ20ET FIT? IF IT DOES THEN YES IT WILL FIT..... THE R31 SKYLINES CAME WITH BOTH ENGINES. AND THEY HAVE THE SAME SIZED ENGINE BAY AS THE S12.

so are you saying that the rb20det will fit.. or are yous saying that the FJ20ET will fit...?

I think he's saying yes (to both), based on:Some S12s had FJ20sSome R31 Skylines had FJ20sSome R31 Skylines had RB20s Based on that info, if an FJ fits, an RB fits. I guess it makes sense, though that doesn't say what it'll take to make the engine power the car.. just that it'll fit in the engine bay

I dunno about an inline 6 fitting just because it was in the R31 with a 4 banger. The S12 obviously has the bay WIDTH because it came with the VG30E (rarely), but that's only 3 cylinders long...So I'd play it safe and stick with the FJ. Of course you can fit anything in anything, it's just a matter of difficulty.
