I'd just use the Rb26 oil pump normal N1 isn't all that and cost more money.

I was going to use the stock rb20 pump but decided to get a new one. normal costs about 160 and n1 cost 210 so i just got that instead. I brought 2 restrictors because i dont like the idea of one being blocked off. i like my oil to be spread evenly.

what you consider a "n1" pump is a normal oil pump. a real n1 cost close to 1000 usd. and yes a n1 oil pump is the shiznat compared to a normal pump.

The N1 pump sucks just as much as the normal pump. It just runs a little higher in the PSi vs the normal. You won't be taking the N1 to 10k rpm and watching it live. The 1k pump like the Tomei, Greddy and ect those take the hit. http://www.skylinesaustralia.c...+pump

I research mixed reviews and some people done some while other did this and that and are fine.this taken from a guide

"Many have had success using the RB30ET oil pump.It is best to use an oil pump from a twin cam motor as these provide more flow and pressure. All RB oil pumps are interchangeable.I’ll stress again. The RB pumps do have a reliability issue and crack if used at 7000rpm+ and high km’s without a crank collar.Ensure you use lock tight on the bolts when assembling the oil pump as they are known to rattle loose causing a gradual loss of oil pressure."

Hmmm I am just going to use the n1 pump, oil restrictors, crank collar, and locktite the back plates bolts. i let my emotions get the best of me and i usually take it out on the car. so here's to hoping. i never hit rev limiter anyways because no torque >.>. I am doing a lot of tracking and autocrossing lately every week or two and I beat on the motor. so everything should be needed. just not gonna do the oil drain in back of head until Coolwhip gets into making a good thin version using wesch plug. /hint /hint

Ballpark figure is something like around 2 grand for timing, gasket kit, crank collar, machine work, oil pump, rings, bearings, headstud, rod bolts, water pump, crank drive gear and some others im forgetting, probably around 2.7G total. doing all the work myself . besides the machine work.

the belt smells like new shoes >.>

Just got it cleaned, honed, snouted, decked, and resized. there was a lot of rust and chunks of it. that why i took it apart. the motor was sitting for like 5 years, i m guessing although motor look real low milege like 20k low or less maybe.

Well lets just say the motor was easier to put in then taking out the ka.
The swap is very easy if you are mechanically incline. there were a lot of fabbing but meh. wiring was so easy. all the talk on forums made it look harder then it is.
well its running and omg it feel good after i drove for 400 miles with 1 bad injector. now it pulls like no other and at 20 vac im loving it.
