How can you tell what type of vehicle did a RB20DET Engine came from? If it came out of a SKyline or a Cefeiro or C33 Laurel?

The big difference to my knowledge is that the R32 skyline RB20's have blow off valves, while the Cefis and Lauerls do not.

The MAF on a skyline has a green label on it. The MAF on a Cefiro has a blue label on it.

Internally, the cams are a little better on the cefi's and laurels...

Hey...maybe thats why my laurel doesn't have the fitting for the recirc line from the bov to the turbo inlet. interesting.

Well,

I don't know this for absolute certainty, but I remember reading a post from Meggala saying that the Cefi's and Laurel's had better cams... more power for low end and about eqaul for high end. I guess they are close to RB26 specs.

I think the idea was that the Cefi's, etc... were more daily commuter cars so they needed more power at the low end. They were tuned to make more tq and better power at low revs, while the Skyline was tuned better with the ECU, blowoff, etc... to be more peaky at high RPMs.

That is what I have read at least. Hope I'm right on that.
