I have been having trouble with cold starts, and I think the engine temperature sensors are bad and should be replaced.

Does anyone have part numbers for Nissan, or info on how to get these? I've tried a search, and I've read the two part # threads and can 't seem to find anything.

I am guessing they may be the same as what's used in the 300zx?

There are two sensors on the Metal Pipe that the upper radiator arm goes into. One has two wires and is for the ECU and the other has one wire and is for the dash gauge.

I am going to try to remove them and clean them, but I think the best way to go about it is to just get new ones.

Can anybody help point me in the right direction?

Thanks.

Ibzbro, are these the US part numbers?

I was thinking of replacing my engine temp sensor (not the gauge temp sensor) and wanted to double check the "engine coolant tempsensor" 22630-01U00 is indeed the same one I'm looking for... thanks for the help bud!

ibzbro,

I went to my local Nissan shop. They had the first part number in their system, and I am waiting for them to get it shipped to me.

So, when it get's here I will post again and verify it works.

The second one... 22630-01U00 they didn't have any record of.

I also tried the 300zx TT part, and it didn't work.. the sensor tip was a different size, and the plug connector is a different size as well. So for the record... don't use the Z32 engine temp sensor.. it isn't the same.

Can you get me the coolant temp sensor? If you can post a here, that's great.. otherwise.. email me at [email protected] with pricing and shipping info.

Thanks

this search engine is actually pretty good.http://www.trademotion.com/par...id=55

it will tell you if the part is available in the US, AND what cars/engines it comes in. dont need to make a trip to the dealer if you have a p/n.

alloemautoparts.com is good too.

Now you just need the one for the ecu right? I dont know if rb25 and rb20 are the same, but the one from KA24DE works on my rb25. Just changed mine last week.

Alright.. I must be missing something. You and another person recommended using the 91-94 240 plug.

I don't see how it works.. The skyline has a yellow plastic adaptor. The one the parts department gave me has a blue adaptor. The plugs don't connect at all, so i would have to get a new plug and splice the wires.

If I'm going to spend $27.00 on the sensor, and $20 on the plugs, and then have to cut and solder wires... i think i'm better off just paying $30 for the sensor and $20 for International shipping.

Can you check the one you got... what color is the connector? Did you have to get a new plug and cut the wires?

Thanks!

Hmm...I got it for a 97 KA24DE. It screws and plug right in. I think the female plug is brown as well. Mine is an Rb25 btw, dont know if the two motors are different or not.

I have the RB20 on the timing cover.

I think the KA or Z32 plug would screw into the slot properly. The thing is that the wiring adaptor won't plug onto it correctly. I could always buy the harness and plug adaptor as well, but then I have to solder new wire connections, and by that time, I'm better off just getting the original plug shipped from overseas... IF I COULD FIND ONE!!!

i think i might have a lead... I emailed a person who is selling products from Japan on ebay. I asked if they could get me a special order. Sounds like they are going to try. So, that would be nice.

I'll keep updated.

Later

Yeah!!! I found one!

I hooked up with a guy in Okinawa who was able to get the part used for me.

In fact he got me two of them... For $25.00 shipped!!!

He rocks.

If anyone has requests, let me know... and I might be able to get him to find stuff for us.
