i have a friendly shop. i don't know how strict GA is about that stuff, but if it has a cat you should be okay if it's just a visual inspection.

I'm in GA too, there are a few things you can do, but first get the car tested... $20 and if it passes, you have no worries.

My buddy alex has a 525hp rb25 and all he had to do was bolt up a cat and he passed just fine

there's also a last resort which you do not want to do, you can spend $716 on EMISSIONS repairs, pcv, etc. etc. parts like that. and they'll give you a form saying you've basically passed for the year, but next year it either needs to pass or you pay another $716 in repairs... Basically you're going to pay out the *** if you can't pass, or they're going to make you spend enough money to fix the problem.

really though, just get it checked first, no harm in trying.

Oh and I'm located in Kennesaw GA, if that matters about different testing and what not.

Oh and we don't do visual inspections in georgia, its pure sniff test.

And the RB20 is a ULEV motor anyway (ultra low emissions vehicle) you should be fine as long as you aren't boosted and chipped etc. etc. no cat

I assume the car is boosted.I doubt anyone would go through the trouble of the swap for a RB20DE???

yeah I've heard all you need is just a CAT.
