I had my car running with a RB20det in a S13 - I was just flushing the coolant - engine ran fine - my fans which are temp controlled kicked in and the motor died. Tried to restart and nothing - it cranks and turns but it doesn't catch - like a fuel or ignition cut.

I noticed that my ecu light flickered for a sec and was no longer illuminated. I checked all the fuses under the hood and the dash. Does anyone know what the problem is? It seems like the ecu has no power coming to it. The only other thing I was messing with was the tach wire from the ecu to the dash. I still don't have a tach signal yet - I was messing with the orange/black wire under the hood - it was damaged and I resoldered it together. I'm at a loss.

Btw - the fuel pump does prime while trying to start.

check your fuses. sounds like you powered the fans directly and didnt give them their own relays.

where did you hook your fan controller to?

I did check all my fuses already. The fans are fuse protected and that fuse is ok. I've ran the car before with the fans without any problems. The fans are powered through a distributer block shared by the battery power a couple of other accesories.

Do you think that it could be my ECU ground?
