Ok so i was just slowing cruising down the road, i came to a stop light and my car died. I started it up and tried driving and as i was applying gas it tried to die again, so i gave it gas, and it just sputtered "go for a second, then nothing then go then nothing" I stopped for a second at a gas station, and I started it up and nothing really happened then i drove home like 2 miles and when i was going like 40 holding the gas steady it dropped off quick then came back to where i was holding the gas pedal for a brief second. PLEASE HELP! My car has been backfiring a lot recently if that helps.

First off, your post is sorta difficult to read and understand.

Ok it sounds like one of a few possibilies, you may have a loose/bad connector or a short in your wiring "somewhere". Check out the extended MAF wires since that will put the car into limp mode. Also chec the o2 sensor wiring, fuel injector harness, ignition harness, etc. Time to take a few hours this weekend with your DMM and test continuity & sensors per FSM.

If you're backfiring a lot, it could be a sign that youre having ignition problems. When were the plugs replaced? You should diagnose your ignition coils and wiring, along with the ignitor.

If all the electrical and ignition checks out you might want to look into your fuel pump, fuel filter, injectors, intake piping, etc.

Sounds like a boost leak. Make sure all of your silicone couplers are tight and a intercooler pipe didn't blow out.

I think its either boost leak, MAF wiring, Or like my SR did when the 02 sensor wires got messed up. I couldnt hold the Throttle constant or the car would cut out and almost die. Found out my wiring was touching and shorting out.

ok i changed my plugs, changed my fuel filter, which by the way the fuel came out of brown in color from the filter.

So i took it for a drive on the highway was fine for about ten minutes ran alright, then all of a sudden it cuts fuel for a second then came back and it did that for maybe mile.

then i turned back onto the highway going south towards home and nothing really happened.

SO any ideas? thankks?

Just a thought but you might want to check your coils themselves, particularly for any sort of meltage of the plastic, and any hairline cracks in the rubber neck.

Try running it without the spark plug cover on, see if it makes any difference. it traps a fair amount of heat in and around the coil's.

I HAVE HAD THIS HAPPEN TO ME BEFORE WITH ANOTHER VEHICLE. MY PROBLEM WAS THAT SOME RUST FROM THE GAS TANK GOT INTO MY FUEL LINES AND CLOGGED IT UP AND I COULD NOT DRIVE IT. I WOULD TRY AND PULL THE GAS TANK AND CLEAN IT OUT AND GET A NEW FEUL PUMP. JUST MY OPINION
