Well stop doing all that stuff. This isn't a 1974 pickup truck with a quadrajunk carb. :slap:

If it ran fine when you parked it, my first thought would be change out the plugs. I had a Skyline that sat for a month and when I went to start it back up ran like a**.

Next would be listen to see if your fuel pump is humming happily. It might have gone bad, but I really expect it's the plugs.

If it's backfiring through the intake, it's generally not a good thing. Here's a good summary of things it could be:

Timing belt
Ignition timing (if you have a distributor)
Bent intake valves
Intake valves not sealing
Having the ignition sequence mixed up (such as: the spark for cylinder 1 is going to cylinder 2, 3, etc.)

Check the plug wires and make sure they go to the right cylinder. Check that the ignition timing is right. Inspect the belt. Then do a leak down test to test the valves (noted this one last because not everyone has a leak down tester).
