Hey guys.

Well we know it's sometimes hard to find a 300zx TT MAF but I'm wondering if the RB20det MAF will work and if it's the same as the Z32?

They look the exact same which you can see. Here's the link to one off of Ebay,http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...ZWD1V

I know they may not be EXACTLY the same or have the same IN/OUT but can we use them? I have access to these no prob so I want to know if I should grab it.

As well would ANY Skyline MAF work? I know the RB26dett MAF's can handle insane boost with no issues like the Z32 but for now how good is the rb20?

Well if anyone can shed some light on this, 100%, that would be great. Getting my new turbo, boost controller and up'n the boost so I want to upgrade my stock KA maf.

Thanks guys.

Easy

No it is not the same the rb20 is the same as the series 1 rb25 with 5 pins and series 2 has 3 pins but as far as power the rb is only good for 350 hp

Not saying your wrong man but, can anyone else confirm or deny this?

Also has anyone here used a Skyline MAF for there ka-t set up? I'd really like some clerification here as I can get one of these for nothing and I want to know if I can use. Oh, and if so is there anywhere I can score a wire diagram to do?

Thanks guys.

Thanks man.

I really was'nt saying your wrong or anything so please don't think that. Just wanted to hear some other thoughts but you really seem to know your sh_t.

Now I only plan for this motor to make 300ish rwhp so this MAF will work then.

My next question is do you know how to wire it up and if so, do you have any diargrams or "how to's"?

Could you explain in more detail? Just pretend I'm a 6 year child. LOL

The RB20 MAFs plug should have 6 different pins on it. Thats what the A-F represent.

The stock plug on your stock MAF should have 4 wires coming into it.

First, identify what each of those four wires are using the FSM (and maybe double checking with a voltmeter). Once you know which wire is the signal out (0-5V), grounds, and 12V, just connect them to the pins sean mentioned.

I just noticed the RB20 only has 5 pins, while the Z32 has 6. Maybe someone can tell you how the RB20 MAF is wired (try the RB forum). But the concept I mentioned still applies...

what do you do with the temp sensor when you replace it with another MAFS? It's the 2 wire that goes into the intake box.
