Well, it was an unexpected purchase but a good one. I was looking around this weekend on ebay just browsing through the all of their motors, when I ran across what is now my motor set for $850. The price was right, and I got a shipping quote of 144 for the motor set. He had 100% feedback and so far has been really nice and accomidating. There are two more motors left on there: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...T%3A3

I will let you all know how it turns out!

rbsileighty : did they honored that price? because they jack-up the price a short moment after that.

I too am about to pick up 2 RB20DETS lol. here is the Story, Last summer I was about to buy these 2 RB20DET's from this guy but wasn't sure if they were complete. I went out and looked at them and it was a Redtop long block with transmission and a silver top that was taken apart. The guy wanted I think was $900 but I thought about it and didn't want to go hunt down parts for a red top motor with a cut harness. Well fast forward to a few days ago my friend tells me he is selling both long blocks for $100. So I'm jumped on it, have to go pick them up and get an engine stand for the silver and plop the head back on it. Goin to use it to fab up some stuff :D looks like I'll get those manifolds started after all.

Not really the Red top is whole but the Silver would need to be hot tanked to be used lol. Are the Redtop and silver top exhaust flanges the same? or did nissan change them?

The motor came yesterday. It was in very good condion, even had a new alt on it. The only issue was that it didn't come with a starter, and he is sending one out for me today. I got the motor set for $850 +144 shipping.

hmmm.. wonder if the starter from the KA would work? When I was putting my RB25 in I broke one of the copper connectors on the starter actuator. I was able to swap that part out for the KA one. The alternator on the RB25 was different so I couldn't use the whole alternator, but you might just look to see if it migh work on your RB20.
