i recently got an already rb20 swapped s13. when i got the car it has a screw in a vacuum line coming from the ic piping. the line that comes off the wastegate actuator was connected to a vacuum line from the intake mani. the car boosted at 5psi. the kid also gave me 2 boost controllers so i took the screw out of the line coming off the ic piping and put a boost controller in between that and the line coming off the wastegate actuator and took the screw and put it in the line coming off the intake mani. the first boost controller boosted at 5psi when it was all the way down and 5psi when it was all the way up. so i tried again with the other boost controller and the wastegate wouldnt open i tried switching the way the lines when and i couldnt figure anything out. am i doing something wrong? could it have something to do with the wastegate actuator? thanks alot i tried searching and couldnt come up with anything.

first of all, what kind of wastegate is on there? is it the stock wastegate ?if the wastegate opens up at 5psi, then it looks like the wastegate is working and the wastegate is rated at 5psi.

also, what kind of turbo is it? the source for the wastegate is idealy at the intake manifold after the throttle, unless the turbo has a nipple for it already. this is the case for the stock turbo setup.

also, what kind of boost controller do you have? do not connect both at the same time. the boost controller should be spliced on the wastegate boost source vac line.

this may give you some direction

it could be one of two things.

take your boost contoller apart and make sure if its ball and spring type that there put in the right place. you should be able to go to the manufactures website and get a schematic.

also if you know anyone that has a waste gate you can try. put it on. the rod on my actuator was bent and it was causing my wastegate to not close properly. sometimes it would spike then other times it wouldnt boost past 4.

thats just my two cents.sorry for the spelling errors

Have you tried turning the boost controller around? Sounds like you have it hooked up backwards.
