Rb20 Wiring trouble

Ok so i followed the wiring write up, using the 2 rb 20 plugs (6 and 8 wire) wired the purple/white wire into the white wire on the fuse box. wired the fuel pump. grounded the starter to the frame. Now when i go to crank the car, when i turn to key to prime the fuel pump, it only primes sometimes, then the temp gauge shoots past hot, when i turn the key to crank it, it just clicks and everything dies. if i hold the key then that lil blue box (i believe its from the headlights) makes a rattling noise and then when i let off the ignition, the egi relay in the fuse box (middle one) clicks. The other thing is if i try and turn my head lights on w/ just the key on accessories, sometimes they come up nice and bright, sometimes everything dies. What in the world is going on, i checked all my grounds (that i know of) and they are all grounded. =[ what now?

ok so now that starter will click rapidly when i turn the key, i can hear the fuel pump prime, lights, dash, radio, heat, all that works. only when i turn the key the starter as stated clicks rapidly and the temp gauge pegs hot. please please please anyone have any advice

sounds like a weak battery.....try a new one

tried a new battery and tried jumping it same result.

sounds like the same problem i had, my starter wasnt getting enough cranking amps, mine would just click rapidly even with a new battery and starter, make sure ur starter and wiring r correct if so u might have to buy a little box like mine just ask at a autoparts store.

so i should be able to push the car and pop the clutch and it should crank if its just the starter?
