Got The RB20DET Running! Now must solve the issue of not revving passed 3k!

It runs great but it will not rev passed 3k RPM's or so its as if its hitting a rev limiter!

Sounds Mass Air Flow related. Unplug the MAF and retry, does the symptom change or remain the same?

If the symptom remains the same or thereabouts, you either have a bad MAF or more than likely wiring issue to the MAF.

Also, could also be Throttle Position sensor related as well. Do you know how to adjust/set the TPS position? Have you messed with the TPS at all by touching the mounting bolts?

Ok I was tolled the MAF was bad and the MAF is technically not connected!

I have messed with the TPS and did touch the mounting blots! is there a specific procedure?

Ok I was just wondering if this issue could be caused by anything else! so should I go with the n60 or n62? Which one doesn't need a tune, the N60?

Actually Im pretty sure you need a j60 to not need a tune. Even if im wrong, it probably would be that hard to search for... (hint, hint )

Ok the ecu is still giving me the mass airflow circuit code, and will not rev past 3! so yay fun stuff get to take the N60 back and maybe find some coil plug clips and possibly some interior parts! I got nothing lol!

So who can hook me up with a j60? anyone selling nistune?

I saw a couple RB20 mafs in the classifieds, but i haven't seen much for nistune. Maybe check the RB classifieds.

Ok some updates! I pinned the ecu to the mass air flow connecter and well in the ecu pinout it says that the black wire is the sensor reading and the white is the ground????? when I connect the j60 sensor like that the car dies bc I am guessing its getting a short??? well so I switch them back and now I was going to check the sensor itself. I hooked up a volt meter to the white(sensor reading) and one of the middle two black ground wires and the mass is giving me a reading from .8V when I rev it goes up to 2V so that makes me think that my MAF is actually good!

So now my question is what is the right way to hook up the original MAF to the original wiring? and what are the correct labels for the wires coming out of the ECU? pin 26 and 27 I think!

PLZ Help ready to get this beast roaring past 2500 rpm's Thank you for your help!

Ok I got it running with an e60 MAF! The J60 ended up being the n62 which also was messed up and was not working like its supposed to!

Huh. Thats interesting. So is it running like it should, or is it still only revving to 3k?

P.S. How many mafs do you have?!

Well I had two maf's the E60 and the J60(which ended up being the n62 when I opened it up) The N62 was jacked up when ever I would connect it the correct way it wouldn't let the car start!

I am picking up another N62 and maybe a SAFC hopefully I can get it to run right! Will this be enough to get the car to run right?

And Yes its revving passed 2500 and running rich and I am not getting the MAF engine code 12
