RB20 vss or 240sx vss?

I need a new vehicle speed sensor and Im not sure which one I need seeing as I just got the car... 1990 240sx se rb20 swap... I went to auto zone and said what I needed... Dude looked at me and said "Whats a Skyline?"

you should just need a normal s13 speed sensor. its gonna be about 120 bucks new. I just picked one up for my s14 from a guy parting out his for 30 bucks, and its more accurate than my old one was. If I were you I'd hit up the classifieds

Also I figured there would be a difference because it's a different transmission.

pretty sure for the RB20 the Stock SOHC speedo sensor fits and reads dead on.

well i went to the junkyard and got a vss off a s13 5spd for (free 99). it is accurate,but if you change your tire size beware it will throw your mph off..

If it's an rb20 transmission, yes the 240's ka sensor will work.

I think the RB20 uses a cable style sensor, and the KA uses electronic. You will need the electronic one obviously. The KA sensor bolts right into the RB20 trans. Do it do it.
