Ok, last night i raced some guy with an RB20DET and he had an RB25DET Turbo, FMIC, turbo timer, and MBC set to 12, which was spiking or going to 15 and 20psi running an open downpipe. ::edit:: and he also had A MINES tuned ECU.

Vs me, Running 8psi, shifting at 6k becuase anything past that my boost spikes and runs lean for some reason ( Needs to hook up AFC2 and Boost controller ) so i wasnt running in my power band from 6k-7.5k.

We took off and he slowly pulled me.

Does this sound right? Or do i need to do some tuning with the AFC once i get it hooked up becuase i think im running pretty rich under 6k.

Heres the vid.BTW, i let off after he got about a car on me.

Needs more boost! : (

Why bother if you won't/can't shift past 6k? Get that thing fixed or risk popping the motor....

not sure why this is such a shocker if he's running twice the boost and you cant even hit redline? nice vid though, sounds nice and i like the gauges (minus the dead speedo)

Thanks ---^

Im not going to pop my motor, i dont race it often, and its running rich rather than lean.

I raced becuase i was asked to when i got there and i never decline just becuase im like that, i've been racing ever since i was a little kid running karts and then some. So i never back down so to speak.

Im not sad or im not surprised i lost. I was actually refreshed as this is the first race i've lost. So i know what i need to fix.

Thanks for the input though.

Indeed carl... I've been told my car pulls as hard as a Neo rb25 s14. There is one rb25 s13 here, but he always misteriously seems to be "missing" when we go to the track. But apparently it runs good when we're not racing... and the only way I could win is if he was spinning the whole race...?

Nah, its cool, and its not really overated, i never thought displacement was. It doesnt suck that i lost, i just shouldnt have raced when i did, and would've waited for a tune, and the guy i raced knows that and so does the guy that made his car.

So the rematch is inevitable.

wow feel the flames lol. He didn't have to post the vid but he did. I don't think I posted my vids on this board or in any RB section. You win some you lose some big deal. I don't see anyone else posting vids?

I dont really care what anyone says about me losing, thats part of the game, and its not about Money, and its not about lame **** like most people do, its about fun and sometimes Pride, but i raced him purely for the fun of it.

Am i dissapointed in my motor? NoAm i dissapointed in myself? Maybe, i shoudl've ran him while i was tuned becuase that can make a world of difference. Will i race him again? You better damn believe itWill i win? Yes.

Hey man, it's not all bad. My buddy used to have an RB25 in his C34 Medalist Turbo. We raced a few times, and I always would pull on him from 1st-2nd. He would hit 3rd and just pull away from me. For some reason, the 20 is really good down low over the 25. I kind of wonder if the gearing in the 25 is a little higher in 1st and 2nd then geard perfectly from 3rd through 5th.

And just so you all know, he had a decenly modded Laurel too.

Boost set at .8 barFMICfuel pump and FPR440cc injectorsfront pipe and catbackmines ECU with retuned fuel map and rev/speed cut removed

Mine was pretty much stock except for a pod filter and cat back.

We both had 5 speeds.

When we go to the track? I have yet to go to the track this season.. Or are you talking bout the streets? And yes, my car use to "miss" badly.. Ask anyone that has been in or around my car.. You can clearly tell.. But now my VVT is hooked up and that cleared it up real nice.

And where did you get that statement saying the only way you could win if I was spinning the whole race.. I never said that and I haven't even thought about racing you or talked about it

People dont think to highly of street racing around here... Alvadore = track.

Bailey told me the only way I could win is if you were spinning the whole time... I dont know, maybe I figured thats drilled into your head too now since bailey knows all =P I never said you said that.. Thats why I used the word apparently.

Im comparing the rb20 to the rb25, dont get all butthurt.

And what exactly did you do to fix your VVT?

Power wasn't even making it to the sensor.. So now there is power going to it.. (hard wired for now) Steve is going to hook it up the correct way soon I guess.

You should dyno, so we can get a real comparison in here... That would be informative.

808 charged me $85 for 3 runs, not bad at all.

Waste of money to dyno since I will just be doing pulls with no tunning IMO.. I'll dyno when I actually have an EMS.

They gave me time in between runs to look over my graph and adjust my fuel.. It probably took just under an hour for the 3 runs, lol.
