Rb20 turbo

I have a rb20det, i don't really have any intentions of building this motor up very much power wise. But i would like to at least turn up the boost a little. Does anybody know know how a Ford garret t3 .60trim would do on my rb(i have a extra one from my 86 merkur). Are there any other good junkyard turbos ot there i could use. I've heard you can use z31 turbos how much power can they handle? thanks

I had pretty much the same turbo from a 2.3 liter mustang turbo ... It would have taken some minor fabrication to get the turbo on ... but you would be able to boost much higher than the factory turbo. You can get at least a little over 300hp out of that lil turbo maybe more cause I know the smaller t3 that is in the 300zx can get you 300HP. Try it ... it might be worth it ... they are pretty decent turbos for custom projects.

The VG30ET turbo is a popular swap, it should get you into the 300hp neighborhood with no trouble. The 20 will likely run out of fuel without some tweaking though so watch your mix.

Yes ... How could I forget about that ... make sure that you make the proper fuel upgrades.

by a little fabrication u mean like the line and such right? whatabout downpipe. i could try to use the ford one then i'm ganna have a shop make me my exhuast

Yes ... the lines, the downpipe, the flange ... if you go with 300zx you woun't have to go through all that. Its a toss-up ...

well the one i have is in need of a rebuild so i could rebuild that and have a reliable turbo. But thats also ganna be a pain in my ***, cuase i thought of something else the turbo is on the other side on the merkur so if I tried to put it on the rb it wold be upside down.
