Hey all, just wanted to post this for those doing rb20 swaps using the r32 crossmember. This is the elbow a guy in australia made for me. He can make em with open or closed wastegates. It's an awesome piece and clears the steering shaft completly with a little room to spare.

just a pic showing the flare on the pipe that goes to the turbine housing to keep things sealed and mostly leak free (some copper RTV should seal everything completly, but the slight leak i have out the wastegate dump is barely noticable)

Looks very nice man. Very clean indeed. I wish it could work with my turbo...

it leaks a little bit, but nowhere near the first prototype the guy made for me. like the second pic shows, he flared the pipe so it fits snug in the turbine housing. i think some copper RTV would seal it completly, but as it is now i hardly notice the leak at all. closed or open wastegate shouldnt affect price, they'd be about $250 shipped

Alright, I got a n00b question,In the first picture, the upper pipe (longer with no flange at the end), what is it for? Is it the exhaust for the waste-gate? Just wondering. Also, the quality looks awesome!

the unflanged pipe is for the external wastegate dump.the car sounds evil when it pops open.

That looks like an great part but.... it's for a stock turbo. Why would you even bother? why not put that money towards something that won't **** it self at anything over 14psi?

On some car and some mount kits there is no option.

The stock elbow would not clear my steering shaft unless I cut it in half.

and yes, it sound very evil when the WG pops open, but mine leaks a lot. It is NOT from this manufacturer though.

Bronze,

Who made this piece? Are they a NICO member or SA (Skylines Austrailia) member? I ask because I'm interested...

I'd buy one tooHit us up with who made itCause I had to ghetto rig my stock pipe to work. Fits like a charm but is a huge restriction in the pipe.I cut the pipe then cut another pipe and inverted it and then welded it in placeHopefully it won't leak also.

yellow, some of us need a pipe that will work with a stock swap for a while. I've had my stock setup since december and still have a blast with it. Plus having an elbow that doesnt rub against the steering shaft (or not clear it at all) is what I would have paid good money for when I did my swap.

sil 240, i bought a rigged pipe like you're talking about and it didnt clear my steering at all. you got lucky.

if you guys are seriously interested, let me try and get a hold of the guy (ande) and see if he's back from vacation yet. he's supposed to make me an elbow that routs the wastegate dump back into the elbow, so its not hella loud when you floor it.

Ohh that sucks. I didn't have that problem when I did my swap. I have used Mckinneys and Tophat and both cleared. Well not 100% lol it rubbed a little.

I had more of an issue then I had anticipated. I guess it's an s14 thing.
