rb20 trouble..

okay, so i know i have a problem with my starter... like it sounds like its rubbing up against the fly wheel, itl maybe catch the fly wheel 1-5 tries. give or take that many.. but my main problem is that once it does catch the fly wheel and turns over... it will start and run for like 1 second, then die. it wont even run fully, it will like turn over, get fuel and everything, then die... any ideas what it could be? every since i live in atlanta its like 40- deagrees every morning, so i hafta up do the IC piping every morning and spray a little bit of starter fluid in it to get it running, NOTE. that after driving, like if i was to drive for like 20+ mins, like car is warmed up i have heat and everything, it will start right up first try unless i let the car sit for about 1 hour or more, maybe 2 hours.... also, my tach and TEMP gauges dont work, i juts got this motor running about 2 weeks ago, and we had to solder a new dash plug up into the harness..
