I'm at the point in my swap where I'm finally putting the engine in but can't seem to get anything to lineup. I'm using the rb20det mckinney mount kit. I've hammered in the starter area and even some of the surrounding area and it still seems to be catching but I have no idea.

I'm not sure what to do now.

Any advice would be great.

unbolt the driverside mount from the motor and get the left side down and in then do the driverside that might help.

Unbolt the transmission from the engine. Then mount the transmission, then mount the engine to the mounts, then wiggle it until it lines up with the transmission, success. Hopefully. Im in the process of doing hte same thing. I just told you what the instructions say. haha, take pictures, let me know how it works.

it cant be that hard to line up...ive installed several engines and never had an issue dropping it in engine/trans combo.you need to support the trans while installing it onto the xmember or the mount kit, if you dont support the tail end it will be nearly impossible to get it to drop in properly.

Maybe you have the mounts on the wrong side?
