rb20 tach problem

i went to install my tach and got everything wired up but i get no reading. the green wire(tach input) is connected to the #7 pin(yellow/red) . it gets poewr but still no reading. the tach is a sunpro super tach II, any help would be greatly appriciated. i also noticed that the other end of the yellow/red wire is not connected to anything, does anyone know where it is supposed to be ran? all that is on the other end is just a single wire plug, is there a sensor that this goes to?

is the tach known to work?i have a digital sunpro tach for play use from sometime in the late 70's early 80's and it reads just fine.did you set the cylinders right?

the tach is brand new. im wonderin if maybe there is a problem with my ecu. do you or anyone else know what the signal on the tach output wire is supposed to read? also i connected it to the CAS wire and it reads off of it but i know its not right. (edit) yes i set it correctly, i even tied it on 4 and 8 cyl just to be sure.

perhaps a tach adaptor is needed...some tachs cant read the rb signal.
