Well i just bought myself a 240 hatch s13(my dream car since i was in 7th grade, now i am in first year of college)and have a RB20 ready for the swap. I am currently searching for a shop to do the swap(when i am ready, as in Money wise and parts wise)here in the inland empire. I have found a couple; One estimated about 1800 for labor, some might have heard of this place, Protomotoring, and it seemed a little pricey. One of my friends shop said somewhere around 800 for labor, hmmm. What would be a good estimate for the swap, also help with finding more shops to compare around here would be helpful. Thanks. oh and yes, I am new to the site, My name is Jesse. 240 enthusiast.

if you have a garage, a motor, a decent set of tools, and an engine hoist you can do the swap yourself.send the wiring out and you'll have minimal downtime and get your car running before the shop will finish it.

And yes of coarse, time. I would recommand doing the swap yourself only cause if theres a error later you'll have a clue whereas a shop can only half *** your installation and what not. Everything else is pretty much straightforward. And remember thats $1800 worth of upgrades!

Good luck. If you decide to do the swap yourself we're here to help, but be sure to read all the stickys first then search if that didn't answer your question. Have fun!!

I wouldn't give proto my car to do a oil change. call 909-644-8923 and ask for reggie. Tell him what you have for the swap and he will tell you how much, Its not going to be cheap tho but it will be done right the 1st time. And don't take your **** to JDM autohouse because it will only end up at reggies lol and you will have paid way more than he would have charged you to do it.

Well i was planning on something like that at first, my uncle said that he will help me out. I also have help from friends so that does sound way better than spending the 1800 for just the labor. I was reading the other topics and came across the rb20 fitting with the stock mounts? hmmm but where can i obtain the R 32 crossmember?

Depends who you get ur RB20 from, some places will have it with the motorset some won't. I use Mckinney mounts when I did my swap, well I should say my 1st swap lol as I am redoing it into another car.
