RB20 starts and dies-HELP please!

ALright we are working on a friends RB20 and when we start it it runs for no joke like 2 seconds and then dies.....You can keep doing it over and over and it does the same thing.... It has new spark plugs, there is power to the coils and power at the ignitor so I don't get it!!! Any suggestions. The other part I keep telling him is that he did the wiring himself and it is a rats nest, I think he has wired something wronng but what???

Yea maybe his wiring sucks. Kinda hard to guess what the problem is. MAF working? Even at that it would be in limp mode. Umm... maybe the car has trouble idling? There could be alot of things.

Well its like no fuel or something but you can here the pump prime up, he has a nismo regulator but he never set the psi, how do you do that in an s13? maybe?

He has Nismo Fuel Pressure Regulator?? I didn't have mine set and just installed it out of the box and the car ran. It didn't run good but it ran. I doubt its the FPR.

Maybe his fuel lines are reverse. It happens all the time. So check that.

if im understanding you correctly the way to set the fuel pressure is first ur gonna need a fuel pressure gauge whether its an in cabin one or one that has to go in the engine bay.after that you just udjust the srew on the fpr up and down untill the desired pressure.do you have a type A or type B regulator?A type A goes on directly to the fuel rail a type B can be put any were.

He has a nismo fpr I dont know the MAF is plugged in and we have tried two other ones.....I'm starting to think its his wiring it is so bad...Another thing could it be the Injector resistor or is there one I haven't looked closely yet and I'm at work so I dont know right now!?

Ill put money on it The fuel lines are backwards!!!! Had a buddy do the same thing.

wouldnt it at least idle though? i mean i dont know im just askin?also rb25drag not to thread jack or anything but were are u located in springcity?i only live 10-15 min outside of chattanooga.i do alot of work up that way my dad works for tri-state pools so we go were ever they tell us to install above ground swimming pools.

No it wont idle it just burns the fuel it has in the fuel rail then shuts off.

Well heres the other thing the week before we had it running and it would surge but wouldn't die but now it just dies right away......confusing isn't it.....I will make sure he didn't change the fuel lines in the last week or so but I dont think he did.... Which one goes where then if he did move them?
