Idle won't make a difference because the engine is not venting metered air out of the system thru the BOV. It is off-throttle bogging that is the problem.

I'm currently running a HKS SSQV right now, but recently just purchased a Greddy Type RS cause I think its shot lol. All I hear is it fluttering, haha. Anyways with this new RS I'll be running it back to the original spot like it was intended to do.

Funny that you bring that up because my Ssqv sounds like a turkey gobbling under the hood, it's sounds really out of place. I do have it recirculating and may need a new one.

HKS SSQV is hot garbage and should be thrown away as soon as possible, whether it's vented to air or re-cerc'ed.

Bov's suck IMO. Im a firm believer in recirculation for the performance gain. You wont bog and shoot fire balls out of ur exhaust in between shifts if its recirculated. Audi and VW guys use diverter valves which ROCK. they an hold up to 50psi of boost and are easy to recirculate

I agree a diverter valve is a better option....I may see myself doing this soon enough.

I got the HKS with HKS stock mount for 80$ shipped and it has never leaked so I wasn't complaining...My stock one was crushed too much and leaking through the top.

HKS ones leak at anything above stock boost levels. They are for the ricer sound, and that's it. If you want to sound 2 fast 2 gay, they are for you. If you want to go fast, get something else or don't run a BOV. They aren't needed.

Jesus, not the blow off valve debate again...

I run a forge motorsports diverter valve. Works freaking great. Not loud, not flashy, not expensive. Its tuneable as well.

Wrong. I made 400hp on one last season with no leaking issues venting to atmosphere. Running blow-thru maf. 20psi.

Running it again this season with more power, so we'll see what it's capable of.

In theory, it cannot leak under boost. The only way is if the pressure difference between the top of the diaphragm and the valve head is greater than the spring pressure. That means you are either getting significant head loss through your intercooler and piping or the vacuum line is too small. Two things to do are to tighten down the preload on the spring (if adjustable) or increase the diameter of the vacuum line.

WTF is a "diverter valve" sounds like a bypass valve to me, which is exactly what the RB20/25 has stock.
