I would like to swap a rb25det head onto my rb20det bottom end.I have been searching this forum, and a couple of other sites looking for information regarding this setup, only to come up empty handed. Any information, guidance to where the answers may be, and answers greatly appreciated.I assume the 25 harness will be needed, and i plan on using an r33 gauge cluster.

New compression ratio?

Will this be a bolt on affair? i.e.Any trimming required anywhere on the block, or head?Piston to valve clearance? Custom pistons required?

I dont really want to swap the whole engine if I dont need to, just got a new 20 transmission, and the bottom end is fine. I like the short stroke too.

combustion chamber sizes are completely diffrent due to bore size diffrences...you would never get the hg to seal if you put the rb25 head on the rb20 block.even then not all the water and oil passages line up so some grinding would have to be done.

+1 just buy another rb20 head. im sure they are just as plentiful as the rb25 head. and ill bet $.58 that they are cheaper too.
