Couldn't really find info on this so I'll ask here.

What's the difference between the series 1 & 2 RB20? Besides the stamp on the timing cover.

coil packs might be different. I know I can use my friends S1 coil pack on my rb20 and they plug in.

Are you asking the difference between the old r31 red top style rb20 and the r32 silver top rb20?r31 uses nics instead of eccs, I've heard the head doesn't flow as well for the r31, and the turbo is different.

There is.

The one that doesn't have rb20 stamped on the timing cover was produced later than those that have it. I think that's the only difference.

The one without the rb20 stamp (older model?) uses a different fuel rail. They are basically the same rails, but the s2 with the stamp uses the rail consisting of 2 FPR's and the older one has an average single FPR rail. I doubt it makes a difference, just saying lol.

Are you sure because my RB20 stamped "s2" has 1 fpr and looks like every other rb20 fuel rail that Ive noticed.

The one without the stamp is the newer model.
