rb20 sandwich plate?

hey a friend of mine is having uber problems with his rb20 over heating, i personally think its due to the large/cheap intercooler hes running. normally it over heats on the highway 65+ mph just cruising o.oanyways im about to get this motor so im looking into cooling options, an oil cooler is a great first step so i was wondering..

would a 300zx sandwich plate work on a rb20? sense the oil filters are the same?also does it have to be the tt or can it just be the na?thanks
