i work for the county and we have some of the old crown vics that use to be cop cars and they are pretty quick, i wouldnt under estimate them

If it was the new v8 chargers they use, definitely not surprised. The newest model for cops has 350+ hp and almost 400 lb ft...

That's not a supercharger... its something like ground audio feedback or some such nonsense... basically when your wires aren't shielded enough or grounded enough (or something), you pick up a little buzz that raises/lowers with engine RPM.

It happens with the in-car WRC footage all the time.

only cause the cops let him get that far away.Cops dont follow high speed pursuits bumper to bumper if your going to fast they get far back enough out of your sights so you slow down and they follow you with a chopper.

maybe only about .00001% of people actually escape in pursuits.

HAHAHAH! Never heard that before... you do realize not every police station has a chopper at their disposal right? Letting the suspect get out of your sights has got to be one of the worst tactics I've ever heard of. How do you tell the other guys on the radio (or the chopper) where the perp is if you can't see him? "He's 3 miles ahead of me... I don't know if he turned or not, but last time I saw him he was on this road".

Seriously though that's not how it works. Tough to do a PIT maneuver from 3 miles back.

in southern california thats how the cops handle it on the freeways they back off to put less pressure on the runner so they dont push as hard and they follow in a helicopter.I realize this video is most likely not in california and is not on the freeway but i made my original post before i watched the video(i was letting it load).In this case im sure the cop was most likely trying his hardest to keep up.

not in all places, here in South Carolina you can outrun the cops and get away. My friends dad did it in his Ram Air Trans AM, he even hit a stop sign while running from them and when he got home had to pull the stop sign from under his car. I even know guys with turbo b18 civics here that have outrun the cops. It depends alot on what state you live in and if they have the money for a chopper. not to mention cops here cant drive, i know a guy that got a nice check because a cop hit him, the cop claimed to be responding to a call and went through a redlight without any lights or siren on and hit the dudes car and f*ed it all up. dude's leg was broke from the wreck as well as his ribs and now he walks with a limp.
