rb20 > s13 dash wiring q's .... wth

ive just thrown in a silvertop rb20 into my s13. theprevious owner had it profesionally installed, butwhen i went to pick up the motor he had cut some wireseither under the dash or from the ecu.

my e-brake light stays on and battery light on (but litdimmly). can this be a problem because i dont have myecu bolted in (grounded?)

also i have hooked up the tach signal, but am totallyconfused about the check engine light, water temp, oilpressure, etc.

ive been looking at all the write ups but i am still clueless.

any help would be greatly appreciated
