I just got my 240 with the RB20det conversion. I didn't get a chance to drive it before trailering it home, long story.
I got it home and went for a drive.It sputtered, bucked, and is super rich, it generally ran like crap up to 5k rpm. A quick step on clutch to get the r's up and the car took off, shift and car fall on it's face and sputters until r's get up. Stock RB20det w/ cold air, bov and no cat 3" exhaust. I was told to check ECU and got a code 42???? and I can't find a reference anywhere. The motro is getting worse and barely idles now it won't rev clean at all, just alot of sputtering and black soot out of the exhaust, very rich??
I tried cleaning the MAF with carb cleaner today, cleaned the plug and applied dielectric grease. But there is no change in performance The O2 sensor was replaced before I picked it up so I'm thinking either the MAF or the fuel regulator is bad?
I was looking to buy a MAF on Ebay and there are a couple of them that say they are for a RB20-RB25 but the are N60 MAF's mine has the same part number but is a J60 MAF? Are they interchangeable???
