RB20 Rebuild - Oil Pump question

I would say neither. the hole you are sticking that into is the oil supply for the oil pump and you will be blocking it. Did you take apart the oil pump? That looks like the part of the pressure relief valve. I think the spring sits in this

errr...I think your 1 hole off if that's the dowel pin. The piston for the pressure reg goes in from the bottom of the pump, not he back...I think...

It defenetly came out of that hole but it was in the pump when i disassembled. I think it has something to do with pressure. Anyone have any idea???

It looks like it came out of the pump... if it went in that hole it would block the oil from going through the engine!

Dont put that in any of the holes on the front of the block you will screw yourself. There is a 8 or 10mm allen bolt in the bottom of the pump. Pull the spring out and slide the sleeve over top the spring, then slide the spring back in the pump starting with the sleeve.

I was afraid this was going to be the responce. ANy chance anyone has a spring and could give me the dimentions and spring rate? The plug and spring are completly missing.

Found the spring and bolt. All is well. I wouldn't have figured this out if it werent for you guys. Thanks!

Good deal...that would have sucked if you put it all back together and tried to build oil pressure and you got nothing.
