I'm probably going to end up swapping an RB20DET into my S13 but I have a few questions. I know the RB25 turbo will bolt up and is good for about 300, what is a good turbo for 300+? Also what is the highest you should rev on the stock internals?

I would say for that power range... GT3071 would be the way to go...

I've been told by the aussie guys 8250 RPM is what the 20 can rev to before upgrades are required... yet, I doubt you could make power there with the stock intake manifold without some serious pressure... but don't quote me on that

8250 seems a little conservative what with redline already at 7500. What upgrades? Valve springs and balance?

Thanks for the info guys. I expected the intake mani would have to go if I wanted some high rpms. Hopefully I'll be RB powered soon.

8250 RPM without upgrades. That's impressive, and I don't know if I really believe it... but I sure as hell won't call someone out on it. But if that's really the case, then, damn.

Just... damn.

Anyway, I've heard the same thing about the GT3071. If you don't mind a little lag, it's a perfect candidate.

Not to sound too much like a n00b but the GT3071 isn't internally gated is it. And as far as turbo manifolds go, what are some good ones, all the ones I'm seeing when I search are SSAutoChrome ones or similar looking.

why would you want to go down flange size from a t3 flange to a t25?discopotato is NOT that great of a turbo, if you want 300whp from it gonna have to run 20ish psi and that isnt too good for the motor.as far as revving i have my redline set at 8.5k right now, but take it to 8 occasionaly.............
