so i haven;t been able to get a tach signal out of pin 7 from my rb20det ecu. i checked it with a voltmeter and was getting 0. where do i start with trying to get this figured out... or is there a different way to get a tach signal. from what i understand the ecu generates it though from other engine sensor inputs. i opened up the ecu to see if there was any burnt marks on the board and saw nothing... thanks for any help guys. its killing me to not have any idea what its at when im driving.

voltmeter wont show much unless you have a digi meter.are you trying to drive a sohc tach?if so it simply will not work and will not read the rb's tach signal.

i have a digi meter, and no. i was trying to just use a prosport aftermarket tach. im going to eventually do the dohc and get it converted or do a j30 but yea like i said. no tach signal so far. when its all hooked up to the tach it won;t read anything and like i said no volts on the meter.

I use to have the same problem on my 25. Found out that I wired the tach to speedo instead. Switch and it works.

no sorry, i don;t think you read my post at all. my problem isn't a wire thats hooked up incorrectly.... does anyone else have any suggestions? im about ready to just buy a god damn auto meter tach converter but i would HATE to spend the 60 dollars or so.
