OK, I have a rebuilt Z31 T3 turbo on my RB20 as we speak. Its not a direct bolt-on, but it isn't bad if you or someone you know can weld. Early Z31 turbos were t3(84-87), later ones were t25(88-90). I am not for sure on those years. Heres what I did:
-Make a new oil feed line, I just cut the banjo fitting off of the stock line and then weld on a 4-an fitting and run a new line to the turbo that way.-The stock water lines will bolt up to the Z turbo with a little prying on them.-Use the oil return tube off of your rb turbo-You'll have to chop the flange off of the Z31 O2 housing, as that has wastegate flapper in it. Then weld on another pipe. I just got a 3" mandrel u bend, O2 sensor bung. and a 3-bolt 3" flange from the local hot-rod shop , then I just cut and welded it all together. -I also had to grind down the compressor outlet pipe that bolts to the turbo because the rb uses a 3-bolt set-up where as the Z just uses a coupler and a clamp. It was a pain to grind the 3-bolt flange into a circle, and I messed up my grinder since it wasn't meant to grind aluminum, if I had planned ahead I would have just fabbed up a new pipe.
That all I can think of right now.
