maf connections need to be done with sheilded wire.if you extended your maf you need to use sheilded wire, else you will get a dodgy signal.the revving past 3k means that the maf was not reconnected properly, check connections and ensure they are good and proper.solder all maf related connections, and a q45 maf will not work without some form of compensation, you will run sevearly lean if you do so.

since it seems you are having chronic problems i would sudgest rewiring the entire harness.if you know what you are doing you dont even need to extend the maf wire at all.

Are you sure about that? My MAF wire was pretty short... I'd say it needed at least 2 feet added to make it across the firewall.

Anyway. Redrockets13, make sure you also splice the shielding. It needs to be grounded to filter the lower frequency noise effectively.

yah dude, most rb20 swaps i do now i dont extend the maf, just have to know how to carefuly slice the harness loom and how far back to go.the o2 even when rerouted still needs to be extended mebey 6-7" tho.

the maf could also be bad. if you rule EVERYTHING else out, get a replacement maf. for now i'd say its your wiring. make sure you extend the shielding. check continuity between your shielding and ground.

mine had an intermittent problem, giving horrible driveability... as if i was on/off the throttle. car would keep surging... i redid my wiring and didnt fix it. cleaned the maf to no avail. got a replacement maf and its all good now.

go with a z32 if you can, but its not a plug and play operation you need some form of compensation for it.

theres a thread on how to wire this up on skylines australia, in the faq/write up section, i used it and it worked a treat.but like i said man DONT put that maf on unless you have some kind of compensation, a maf upgrade without compensation will lean out the motor like theres no tommorow and you will definatley damage something.
