I blew my transmission on my rb20det in a 240sx and wanted to go hybrid ka/rb transmission. I get the transmission out of the RB20DET but the trannies are different lengths. I talked to McKinney Motorsports and they said that it is a chance that the transmission I pulled from the RB20DET is a RB20DE transmission since it was shorter than my KA ... What can I do now???? I have been trying to source a replacement rb20det transmission for 2days now.

Of course it is shorter. RB20DET transmission is shorter than KA transmission by a few inches.

You can try swapping transmission cases to mate the KA rear part to the RB front part. One person did it and said it did not work. Another person did it and said it did work.

Search.

I'm going to get a custom driveshaft ... leave it a hybrid so if I break another transmission I can replace it easy.
