I was driving my car last night and it was set for around 8psi. But for some reason the car would boost at 8psi and was boosting at all most 12psi. I changed the settings to lower it and the lowest I could get it to was 10psi. I was also hearing a funny sound when boosting. The boost felt good, but just didn't sound right. I am checking the turbo right now (just taking a break). There is a little and I mean a little play in the shaft. Thinking about pulling the turbo and taking it to my parts guy. Any info you guys might have would be great.

One more thins, my car idles good. But it seems to have a bad lope (not sure if I just spelled that right). Car has good reaction to thorttle. It's not missing and is firing on all plugs. Just wanted to know if any one else might have this prob. Could this be cause by the motor mounts?

well, what direction is there shaft play. there should be a very little shaft play up and down on the compressor. by a little, i mean it should still be very tight on there, but a little play is fine.

I'm looking for boost leaks right now. The shaft play is ok, I talked to my parts guy and told him what it is doing. And he said it was all right. I am waiting for my seals to reset them selfs. The motor hadn't been run and god knows how long. So I have some oil leakage, that is what got me looking at the shaft. But I was told to give it a couple days for the seals to reset them selfs and everything should be ok.
