Hey, the search function will not work for me right now so I will ask this in a new topic. I was wondering what you have to do to fit in an RB20 into my car. Like, what would line up, what wouldn't, itf the transmission would line up with the diff properly, and if all the piping will fit. But most importantly how the motor mounts would line up. I found a place where I could get a smashed R32 and was just wondering if swapping the engine, and stuff would be possible for some guys that have a fair amount of know how about cars, but not enough to start custom-fabricating stuff. So, any help for this would be great, thanks.

It's easy, buy RB20, buy Mounts, or R32 crossmember, pull KA, drop in RB20, connect hoses, connect about 8 wires, and crank it up, have fun. Can be done in as little as one day, depends on what all you're doing.

ok... dont tell someone it can be done in one day. all your gonna get is someone who plops this engine in without any prep and ends up ****in it up. you do not do this swap in one day... if you want your enigne to last past a month. you need prep time... that means replacemnt parts, engine bay prep, wire harness... wich has to be cut and spliced to get your stock guages to work ect. or you can go an easy rout and use the RB harness with the RB guages, though it wont fit right and yull have a gap on either side... and the gauge shroud wont fit over it. i can post pics if you want to see it, as i have it in my car.

but if you do plan to do this swap.... please please take your time, and do as much prep work as possible. look thrugh the forum, take notes on prep work and parts to replace. if you dont do this you will regret it later.

good luck

Yea then again Eric and the crew over at E-E Motorsports dont know what they are talking about because they like done over hundreds of these swaps

I seriously think it can be done in a day if you dedicate all your time to the swap that is and have a few people work, sure. First time swapper like me, probably a year or two with barely any time on their hands lol. **** Im still on my second year and now Im just finishing up. It is alot of work if you haven't done one yet and problems are bound to happen rather your fault or not. Also $$$ is a factor aswell cause you'll needed to change some necessary stuff that costs about $25, $50, $15, etc but they all add up rather quickly.

Make sure you do alot of research and have enough confidence first before attempting the project otherwise you'll end up tossing it away along with your money like a few people if not some. Just read read read.

what takes time is researching the process and getting all the small parts you dont think about until you need them. the wiring is def the biggest part. i hope to have mine running in the next few weeks (working around 19 credits of school, and 40 hours of work a week).

We did one in a day, was for a buddy of mine who was in the military, and had money to blow, said he wanted it, and he would pay. Wiring is the easiest part of the swap. Takes all of 20 minutes to solder, and shrink wrap the wires. Prep on the motor doesn't have to take a week. We've done plenty of drop ins for those who didn't want to spend the money, and have seen them run for years with no issues, got one going on 6 right now.
